Winter Look.... Kind Of.

Word on the street is that its Winter, Well...I beg to differ. The only thing I love about Winter is that I get to layer my clothes, I absolutely love dressing up in winter. So many options, so many things you can get away with. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be as cold as it ought to be. I am quite positive that Durban has lost the plot when it comes to Winter weather. I am not complaining though, i find it quite easy waking up in the mornings.

Seeing as we are not getting much "winter like" weather, I decided to do more of a suttle winter look. A coat such as the one I have on is ideal for those soon-to-come nippy late afternoons/evenings. I took this coat (by force) from my boyfriend and sadly he isn't getting it back. I am such a sucker for the Masculine Chic trend, there is nothing sexier than looking like you are wearing an item straight from your boyfriend's closet (provided that its put together the right way).

I decided to throw on a pair of silver loafers just to add a bit of character to the overall look. I have been spotting loafers in quite a lot of editorial shoots in major magazines, they should be most definitely a staple, mainly because of their versatility and ability to make an outfit look so much more cooler. Shoe designers like Steve Madden have taken the trend to a whole new level, from golden snakes skins to studded edginess. How could you not love this trend?

Casual Cool

So i decided to do more of a laid back casual look, which is a look that would probably best fit how I love dressing on a daily basis. I absolutely love a Boyfriend jean and a low underarm top (a bit of side-boob never hurt anyone). What I love about Boyfriend jeans is that they are so comfortable and versatile, they can be dressed up or down, thus being an awesome staple in every girl's wardrobe. The distressed jeans look is so on trend and can be found in many retail stores. I am so obsessed with this trend that I have been watching DIY tutorials online on how to distress my jeans and decided to try it out for myself....... EPIC FAIL. Let's just say its not as easy as it looks.

One of my favorite trends at the moment has to be ankle cut out boots, they are just simply amazing. If you guys saw my "Bringing Back The 90's" post, you will notice that I am wearing the same boots, just in a different colour (Yes, I have the exact same boots in black and brown). I remember seeing the oh so famous Balenciaga buckle-strap ankle boots, and immediately fell in love. They are truly a work of art. Of course most of us cannot afford a pair of Balenciaga's, but luckily for us, retail stores like Mr Price;Cotton On and Topshop stock some amazing ankle cut out boots.

Drop me a comment below telling me what you guys think of this look.

Until next time, Au revoir :-)

A Trip Through The MilkyWay

These galaxy leggings have to be one of the coolest items in my wardrobe at the moment. I am all for unique and funky fashion items, so when I spotted these leggings, It was as if there were angels above it singing "Haaaaaallelujaaaaaah". It was love at first sight. These leggings are so thick ( there's nothing bad looking and unpleasing than bad quality leggings) and I got them on sale, so there was no way I was leaving them.
A Chinese collar blouse seemed like the perfect item to pair with these leggings, and the faux leather accents add a little something extra to the simple and plain blouse.

Drop me a comment letting me know what you guys think :-)

Tropical Chic

This particular shoot is quite special, all because of the fact that this look was literally chosen two minutes before I was scheduled to do my OOTD shoot. I originally had another look scheduled, but for some odd reason, there were complications with my blouse. Whilst looking for an alternative blouse, it was like a light bulb went off in my head and suddenly this look miraculously appeared in my mind. I have never worn this outfit nor have I ever thought of pairing these items together. I guess my fashion complication was a blessing in disguise.

I seriously need to revamp my accessory box as it is filled with mostly gold toned and black accessories. Dont get me wrong, black and gold pieces are a MUST,especially for us that love to wear black. However, its always good to switch things up. Although black and gold accessories are my go-to-pieces, I have decided to branch off from  my comfort zone and have fun with a bit of colour. The Lovisa store is usually my first option for costume jewellery, but I just could not resist the 50% off sale at Zuri (formally known as Sass Diva) and this necklace caught my eye. Even though this necklace is an item I wouldn't usually wear, it was so stunning and I just had to have it.

I am so pleased with the overall look of this shoot, the outfit goes perfectly with the tropical forest feel of this location. What do you guys think of this look? Don't hesitate to drop me a comment below :-)
